PURPOSE OF FEROX® INSPECTION HATCHES

FEROX® inspection hatches are designed to provide access openings in 13 mm plasterboard walls and suspended ceilings. They allow access to concealed building services without dismantling the wall or ceiling structure.

The hatches can provide access to:

• ventilation system components
• duct connections and adjustment devices
• water pipes and shut-off valves
• heating system service points
• electrical installation components
• other concealed technical systems requiring periodic maintenance

ABS PLASTIC FRAME AND DOOR

The FEROX® frame and door are made of white ABS plastic. Depending on the selected size, the hatch weighs between 0.30 and 1.70 kg.

The hatches are intended for installation in both vertical plasterboard walls and suspended ceilings, using the components provided for the relevant installation position.

PAINTABLE DOOR

The FEROX® door has a specially textured surface suitable for painting. The door does not require additional filling before painting.

It can be painted to match the surrounding wall or ceiling. The gap between the frame and door must remain clear so that paint does not interfere with opening and closing.

PATENTED SHARK™ FRAME PROFILE

FEROX® inspection hatches feature the patented SHARK™ frame profile. Its special shape is designed to integrate the frame with the surrounding plastered finish.

CLICK-CLACK OPENING MECHANISM

The integrated click-clack mechanism allows the hatch to be opened and closed by pressing the door. No external handle is required.

FLEXIBLE DUST-REDUCING GASKET

A flexible gasket helps reduce dust penetration around the perimeter of the closed door.

The presence of this gasket does not mean that the product has a certified IP rating or water-resistance classification.

INSTALLATION OF FEROX® INSPECTION HATCHES

FEROX® inspection hatches are designed for installation in 13 mm plasterboard walls and suspended ceilings.

Before installation, check the dimensions of the selected model and follow the manufacturer's installation instructions. The nominal hatch dimensions may differ from the dimensions of the opening to be cut in the plasterboard.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

1. check the dimensions of the selected FEROX® model and prepare the installation opening using the manufacturer's template
2. insert the frame into the prepared opening and check its position relative to the wall or ceiling surface
3. check the frame geometry and make sure the door opens and closes freely
4. secure the frame according to the manufacturer's instructions, using materials suitable for the installation location
5. finish the perimeter of the frame, taking into account the design of the patented SHARK™ profile
6. paint the door to match the wall or ceiling, keeping the gap between the frame and door free of paint
7. for ceiling installation, use the supplied door-retaining elements and the GIRAFFA™ anti-fall safety system
8. after installation and finishing, check the operation of the click-clack mechanism
